Hunza Herbal’s Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid serum is a one-step solution to pigmentation and skin aging. Vitamin c benefits are many including skin whitening and regeneration of skin cells. Ingredients

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Hyaluronic Acid, Distilled Water, Glycerin, Sodium Gluconate, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum

Benefits/How does it work?

Vitamin C as a de-pigmenting agent

Have you ever suffered from sun spots, melisma or age spots? All these are types of hyperpigmentation that occur due to overproduction of melanin in certain areas of the skin. Vitamin C interacts with copper ions at the tyrosinase-active site and inhibits action of the enzyme tyrosinase, which in turn decreases melanin formation and evens out the skin tone.

Vitamin C as an antioxidant

Here’s a bit of chemistry for the skinholics! Vitamin C protects the skin from oxidation and it does that by sequentially donating electrons to neutralize the free radicals. The oxidized forms of Vitamin C are relatively non-reactive and can even be converted back to Vitamin C in the skin.

Vitamin C and photoprotection

Vitamin C is extremely effective in protecting against damage by UV/sunlight exposure. It neutralizes free radicals thereby exerting a UV-protective effect on the skin. It has been shown under laboratory conditions that application of 10% topical Vitamin C resulted in reduction of UVB-induced sunburn cell formation by 40-60% and erythema by 52%.

Vitamin C and collagen synthesis

Collagen is a very important protein in the human body especially for the skin. It helps form a fibrous network of cells called fibroblasts, where new skin cells can grow. Vitamin C influences quantitative collagen synthesis while also stimulating qualitative changes in the collagen molecule. In short, Vitamin C is extremely critical for the process of skin regeneration.

How to use Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is usually tolerated well by most skin types, though some forms of vitamin C in higher potency will cause your skin to sting.

To use Hunza Herbal’s Vitamin C serum, drip a couple of drops of the serum on to your skin and gently massage it in with your fingertips until fully absorbed. We recommend you use a sunscreen with the serum or use a moisturizer with sunscreen after you have used the serum.
